Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University in 1999. He received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine in 2003, and completed the Oral and Maxillofacial surgery residency program at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn in 2008.

Dr. Backer earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2007, graduating with Honors. While following her passion for learning and thriving for excellence, Dr. Backer relocated to the United States and earned her Master of Science in Dentistry in prosthodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry. It was there where she was awarded the John F. Johnson Society Award for academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Backer loves teaching and served as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University School of Dentistry for three years.
