Dr. Backer earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 2007, graduating with Honors. While following her passion for learning and thriving for excellence, Dr. Backer relocated to the United States and earned her Master of Science in Dentistry in prosthodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry. It was there where she was awarded the John F. Johnson Society Award for academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Backer loves teaching and served as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University School of Dentistry for three years.

Dr. Grider received his Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University with a major in Biological Sciences. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Grider completed his hospital-based residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. His surgical residency training included rotations at many hospitals throughout the Miami area, including main Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami, Jackson South Community Hospital, the University of Miami Hospital, Miami-VA Hospital, and the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. During his final year of residency, Dr. Grider served as Chief Resident in managing both the elective and trauma services in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Before joining ClearChoice Dental Implant Center, Dr. Villanueva worked for Nova Southeastern University, where he was the Implant Director for the College of Dental Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Universidad Santa Maria in Venezuela in 2002. He furthered his education in dentistry by receiving his Certificate in Prosthodontics and Fellowship in Implant Dentistry from the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Andrew Forrest has been practicing dentistry for 15 years and to date has placed over 10,000 dental implants. He attended Florida State University where he studied Biochemistry. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine. His research on the interdisciplinary management of Cancer Treatment, Irradiation Therapy, and Implantology was completed at the University of Miami in 2001. This research awarded him the Straumann ITI Implant Dentistry Scholarship Award. While attending Dental School, Dr. Forrest completed two Periodontics externships, the first at New York University and the latter at Harvard University. He completed his externship in Anesthesiology at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Forrest completed his three-year – training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital. During that time, he also completed his Master’s Degree with a focus on Oral Biology-Immunology.
